The three primary bonds are: (1) Ionic – transfer of electrons between atoms (e.g., salts, metal oxides), (2) Covalent – sharing of electrons between atoms (e.g., within polymer molecules), and (3) Metallic – electron cloud shared among many atoms (e.g., metals).
